1. TONE
The tone is didactic yet appealing. It teaches us to live a balance life in encouraging and positive manner. The last line is one of assurance of success if the advice of living a good life is adhered to. The tone aims to inspire and to motivate.

This poem is written from the first person point of view ( a father or unseen persona) to a second person, ( the son). It is in the form of an address.
